About us

“In the summer of 1975,” says Flavio Valenzano, “I was on a family holiday in Capo Caccia when I saw a newspaper advertisement about a hotel with 300 meters of beach in Capo Carbonara near Villasimius that was going to auction. Who knows, maybe it was intuition.

The fact is, my son Sergio and I immediately went to take a look. ” Arriving along a winding panoramic road, Sergio was amazed: by the seaside, there was a building shaped like a cormorant: “Dad, is that the hotel?” Yes, it was. The Valenzanos made an offer and won the bid. The renovations began and, shortly afterward, the Cormoran Hotel was launched.

Our story

At first, the hotel had outside management. However, in 1985 Valenzano’s daughter Clara and her husband Gianni Guastelli took the hotel in hand, curating the luxuriant gardens, the typical Sardinian furnishings, and the typical cuisine with genuine products. Sergio later joined them and, most recently, the grandchildren have also debuted in the family business.

“What strikes our guests is the family management and the relaxed atmosphere,” says Valenzano. The hotel today comprises 81 rooms (including 11 Suites, 2 Junior Suites, 11 Superior, 18 Deluxe, and 42 Classic family), 6 private villas, and 32 apartments.
